Statement of Faith
At Wordspire Books, we recognize that stories have the power to shape minds, uplift hearts, and inspire action. We take this seriously, and as a publisher, we hold firmly to the authority of Scripture as the foundation for all we do.
In short, we refuse to publish any book that degrades the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Below are the beliefs that inform our content and publishing decisions. Our statement of faith is our promise to you, and we strive to ensure that none of our business practices – including the selection of books – conflict with any of these beliefs and values.
The Word of God
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God. It is the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 19:7-11
The Trinity
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — who are distinct, yet equal in power and glory.
Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14
God the Father
We believe in God the Father, the sovereign Creator and Ruler of all things. He is holy, eternal, just, merciful, and desires a personal relationship with humanity.
Genesis 1:1; Psalm 90:2; John 3:16; Romans 11:33-36
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, is both fully God and fully man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for sin through His death on the cross. He rose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven, and will return in glory.
John 1:1, 14; Philippians 2:5-11; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 4:15
Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He indwells believers, empowering them to live godly lives and equipping them for service.
John 14:16-17; John 16:8-13; Romans 8:9-14; Galatians 5:22-23
Humanity
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God immutably as male and female. As such, all human beings regardless of ethnicity, age, and ability, as well as the preborn, deserve dignity, honor, protection, respect, and love.
Genesis 1:26-27; Mark 10:6; Genesis 9:6; Psalm 139:12-16
Sin
We believe that, because of Adam and Eve’s free choice to sin, all people are sinners by nature and by choice, and are therefore under condemnation. This sin separates humanity from a relationship with God and results in death — both physical and spiritual.
Genesis 3:1-19; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-3
Redemption
We believe that through His sacrificial death and resurrection, Jesus Christ has redeemed all who trust in Him, restoring them to right relationship with God and securing their eternal life.
Colossians 1:13-14; 1 Peter 1:18-19; Galatians 3:13
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is a free gift of God, received through repentance and faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9-10
Marriage
We believe God’s plan for human sexuality is to be expressed only within the context of marriage for the well-being and propagation of humankind. We believe that marriage is exclusively the union of one genetic male and one genetic female, and is the foundation of the family, the basic structure of human society.
Genesis 2:24; 1 Corinthians 7:1-2; 1 Corinthians 6:9
